This year’s Illumination installation dazzles with thousands of festive lights, featuring a sparkling icicle walkway, giant snowflakes, a family of bears, and a radiant star – all perfect for your holiday photos. DowntownDC Holiday Skate Spectacular – Dec. 16 – Jan. 4, 2025

The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID), the National Building Museum, and Events DC are bringing a free indoor synthetic ice rink to the museum’s Great Hall. Enjoy special guest appearances, tasty food, and plenty of family-friendly activities. Skating is free, with rentals available for just $5. The Smithsonian's National Zoo is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland with environmentally friendly LED lights and glowing animal lanterns.
